Letting words fall
What words have fallen
below
my eyes
crashed down
leveling out my heels
now hollow
because I did not choose
them. Barren now that
I did not walk in the rain
forgetting myself along.
What have I let
slip away
passing through
the sieve of my mind?
Returning the shipments
I did not let them speak
in their glass language
to pave their paths over the page
And because of this,
they have lost their warmth,
and are now forgotten.
